FAQ’s
- Does a Listening Assembly have to be a “big” event? NO. It can be held in a living room with a few people, in a meeting room with a dozen or so, or in a larger space for bigger groups.
- Will a Listening Assembly need a speaker or entail other expenses? NO. Youneed people with hopes and dreams for their Church and a facilitatorwho is willing to spend a short amount of time preparing.
- Can a Listening Assembly re-energize our local VOTF affiliate? YES. Gather your members who have drifted away and ask them to invite family, friends, and parishioners who have something to say about the current state of the Church.
- Where do we begin? Is there a Guide to follow? YES. A flexible, user friendly “Toolkit” is readily accessible which provides what you will need! Planner's TOOLKIT
- Will a Listening Assembly work for change in the Church? YES. It is an easy and meaningful way to set the agenda for working for change in the Church!
- What is the American Catholic Council? It is a movement bringing together a network of individuals, affiliates, communities, and organizations to consider the state and future of our Church
- Where is the American Catholic Council heading? Toward a Significant Event during Pentecost Weekend, June, 2011! This nationwide gathering will be noticed!
- What will be discussed during this Event? All the findings from Listening Assemblies across the country will contribute to the agenda and discussion!
- If we can’t attend the Event can we participate anyway? YES. By participating in a Listening Assembly you will be part of the voicesthat form the agenda for the Event.
